About Designer

Rosa Rocha is a fashion designer born in Los Angeles and raised in Chicago.  She graduate from Dominican University in Chicago with a BFA in Apparel Design and Criminology.  She then moved to California in which she continued to persuade her love and passion for design.  She lived in Los Angeles for a year before moving to San Francisco in pursuit of a MFA in Fashion Design at the Academy of Art.  She received her MFA and moved back to Los Angeles.  She is currently developing her brand and discovering herself as a designer.

As a designer she is inspired by her surroundings.  She enjoys combing her inspirations and her love for menswear and fabric. Rosa enjoys playing with minimalism in the silhouette and paying close attention to details through the use of fabrics, textures, and fabric manipulations.  By combing these concepts together they make her a unique designer.  Through the blending of fabrics and detailing she brings a different style that completes the look of her garments. By testing different techniques, she brings something new to the table that definitely make her pieces stand out from the rest.  Her vibe of style is slightly edgy and contemporary blended with a light feminine touch.  As a designer her goal is to help her clientele be able to express themselves through her clothing.  Being able to make a statement of who they are and what they enjoy.

Rosa has been a finalist at the Driehause Design Initiative Competition, which is an annual event that gives 25 students in Chicago the chance to compete for the Fashion Excellence Award.  Along with that she also has showcased her designs in RAW (Riverside Arts Week) fashion show.  A summer annual event which is held to promote the arts from Riverside and the greater Chicago area. In that fashion show she received the “Midnight in Paris” Award.  That same summer she also was part of the Supreme Novelty Fabrics Student Design Competition.  This even, sponsored by Supreme Novelty Fabrics, gave students the chance to compete using their creativity to create a garment using provided fabric to implement in their designs.  From about 30 students, Rosa came in 4th place.

Currently Rosa resides in Los Angeles, is trying to adjust back into life post graduating.  She continues to discover herself as a designer and is ready to showcase her ideas to the world.
